Keloid Injection

A keloid is an overgrowth of a scar tissue that forms the surrounding area of a wound, typically after the wound has healed. Aside from the obvious cosmetic problem it poses, keloids tend to be itchy and may even be painful to the touch. Fortunately, they can be treated with a small injection of a steroid directly into the lesion. Injections are carried out over a period weeks until they are flattened out and unnoticeable.
