Non-surgical Face Thread Lift in Singapore

While fillers may create too much volume aesthetic-wise, threads will help to lift and smooth for a more natural looking result.

The lifting effect of face thread lift treatments in Singapore is notably visible yet discreet due to the compression and elevation of skin once the suture is applied. It can be used to treat different parts of the face such as nose, lower jaw, cheeks and cheekbones, facial contour, eyebrows, and neck. This technique was developed as a safer, minimally invasive and cost-effective way to combat ageing and sagging skin.

What Is Non-Surgical Thread Lift?

A non-surgical thread lift is a type of procedure available in Singapore wherein temporary sutures are used to produce a subtle but visible “lift” in the skin. Instead of removing the patient’s loose facial skin surgically, the procedure simply suspends it by stitching up portions of it. This has the effect of pulling the skin back slightly and therefore lifting and smoothing the face.

These threads are bio-stimulatory and have barbed hooks to lift the skin effectively. They are usually made of Polydioxanone (PDO) or Polylactic Acid (PLLA) material, which are also used for stitching wounds in surgeries. PDO and PLLA material dissolves and is reabsorbed naturally in the body over time – over approximately 12 months for PDO and up to 2 years for PLLA – leaving no residual material behind.

In addition to being ideal for lifting the skin, threads combat ageing in another way: by provoking the body’s “healing response” and causing the body to direct large surges of collagen to treated areas. This is important because of the vital role collagen plays in the ageing process. Collagen growth is beneficial for our skin and helps with skin lifting and prolonging rejuvenating effects even after the threads have dissolved.

Shiro Aesthetic Clinic offers face thread lift services in Singapore.

How a Thread Lift Works

It takes about one hour to complete a thread lift and it is done under local anaesthesia in a comfortable environment.

The thread lift procedure uses dissolvable threads as a double action effect to both reposition the tissue and encourage gradual regeneration of collagen. This helps to restore shapeliness to the face and neck, for a more youthful look. The threads are placed in the subcutaneous fat layer beneath the skin where lifting is required, with slight pressure over the treated areas to compress the skin and achieve desired skin tightening. As the inserted threads have excellent biocompatibility and are fully dissolvable by the body, there is no need to remove them.

Shiro is adept with notable brands such as Silhouette Soft, N-finders, Happy Lift and Ultra V. Upon consultation at our clinic, we will recommend which to use depending on the lifting areas in order to achieve the desired natural-looking effect.

Which Parts of the Face Can a Thread Lift Address?

Thread lifts can be administered in most parts of your face and neck. Common areas targeted in thread lift procedures are the eyes, nose, cheeks, jaw, and neck. During your initial consultation, our doctor will be able to assess your aesthetic concerns and recommend a suitable thread lift treatment plan.

Benefits of Non-Surgical Thread Lift

Non-surgical thread lifts can have various benefits in tackling visible signs of ageing in the neck and face, in order to help restore your confidence.

  • Improvements in skin elasticity and texture
  • Smoothens wrinkles
  • Brightens skin tone
  • Rejuvenate and lifts the skin
  • Redefine facial contours
  • Masks the appearance of unsightly forehead veins

Curate with Complementary Treatments For A Profound Change

Because thread lifts are so low-risk and boast such a short recovery time, it’s possible to combine them with other non-surgical procedures in order to create more comprehensive, noticeable results. Once your skin has healed around the threads inserted, we recommend pairing your thread lift with a treatment like HIFU Toning or HIFU Trinity.

While thread lifts can tighten the skin on your face or neck effectively, they aren’t designed to address blemishes on the skin’s surface. As such, banishing the superficial signs of ageing — like age spots, areas of uneven pigmentation and fine lines — will require skin resurfacing treatments such as IPL and Laser Pigmentation. During skin resurfacing, the top layer of the dermis is removed, stripping away the aforementioned blemishes. A new, more youthful-looking layer of skin then grows in its place.

By combining a number of different non-surgical anti-ageing treatments, our patients in Singapore can achieve a profoundly positive change in their appearance – without enduring the extended recovery time associated with surgery.

Minimal Pain, Minimal Downtime

Pain incurred during this treatment is minimal, as it does not involve any cutting of the skin. Therefore, the thread lift procedure is highly less invasive than traditional face lift surgeries and has minimal to no downtime. Patients can expect to face slight soreness and swelling but are normally able to resume their normal activities almost immediately. Additionally thread lifts also have a lower cost compared to traditional surgeries.

Results to Expect from a Thread Lift in Singapore

The duration of face thread lift results varies across individuals.
In general, most patients experience a taut and supple skin texture for a youthful-looking appearance for 1 to 2 years. If necessary, a simple re-tightening procedure can help to extend and maintain your new appearance even longer.

Frequently Asked Questions About Face Thread Lifts in Singapore

Yes. Thread lifts can break because of applying excessive pressure on the treated area, facial movements, rubbing or exfoliating newly injected skin, or applying water immediately after the thread lift treatment. You should always follow the instructions provided by your aesthetic doctor to prevent threads from breaking. If you suspect that your threads have broken, contact your doctor as soon as possible.

After 12 hours of the thread lift treatment, you can treat the affected area with ice to reduce swelling. When doing so, do not apply the ice directly to your skin. Always wrap the ice in a soft towel or some sort of covering before treating the thread lift site. Using ice on newly injected skin can cause more injury by aggravating the sensitive post-treatment skin.

There is minimal recovery and downtime required with a non-surgical thread lift procedure in Singapore. You can usually resume your regular activities immediately after the procedure, while still taking note of the Do’s and Do Not Do’s listed above. A complete recovery is usually reached after two weeks when the proper post-treatment protocol is followed.

In the first 24-48 hours after your thread lift, you are likely to experience inflammation and swelling, and it can be dangerous to fly during this time. It is recommended to wait at least 5-7 days after a face thread lift before travelling by air. This is because travelling in a plane incurs increased pressure on your body, which can affect the location of the threads as well as the healing process
